Medusa Light made from DuPont Corian

Dupont recently held a competition called ‘Skin of Corian‘, calling for designs using their material for new and interesting furniture pieces.

Medusa means ‘jellyfish’ in Spanish. Made from laser-etched Corian, which catches the form of this acquatic creature. Together these fiber-optic elements give the material the ability to magically shift, shimmer and ripple in response to movement and changes in light intensity on the tiles. The tiles will respond to shadows, moving lights and will also pick up colors and disperse them on its surface.
