These are so often seen in modern interiors some
would say they're a staple for home furnishings. I
think they give off such a nice glow. "The
minimalistic design features a handblown glass globe
supported by a hidden base. Adjust the lighting level
with the on/off/dim switch on the cord."

A company called AgiLight has created a way to insert
LEDs (light-emitting diodes) into thin films. The LED
strips could start showing up in credit cards by
year's end, increasing security by flashing a dynamic
security code. The LED strips can also be inserted
into mirrors or pieces of glass and then display news
headlines or stock quotes.

When you first feast your eyes on one of Stuart
Haygarth’s quirky designs, the first thing that
becomes immediately ingrained in your memory is his
apparent talent for juxtaposing color with form. His
recent design, the Disposable Chandelier, is no
exception to the rule. Humorously crafted out of 416
disposable plastic wine glasses, the chandelier is
lit with a pink fluorescent light source.
Incidentally, a smaller version made with 280 glasses
is also available. While the atmosphere created by
this piece is elegant enough for any posh dinner
party, its unusual construction also provides ample
material for after-dinner conversation!

and express their creativities. Designer Sasinan
Suthayalai created a lamp which could be played and
formed. The connections is made from high magnetic
magnets, which allowed electricity to pass by. Each
cube has one LED lamp inside. As a result, there is
one base cube for plugging to any home electricity,
and any pieces which are connected to it will be

Chameleon is a prototype lamp shade that changes to
match any colour you ’show’ it… A traditional bulb at
the centre of the lamp provides white light above and
below the lamp, while an LED ring around this light
projects a selected colour into the shade, while at
the same time preventing the white light from
diluting the colour being projected.
All you have to do is pick up any other coloured
object, hold it to the sensor on the lamp stand and
the colour will be projected onto the inside of the
shade automatically.

Lighting system that combines solar collectors and
fiber optic "transporters" to bring sunlight to any
room regardless of where it is in a building.
Brilliant concept.
"Imagine an indoor environment where the variation of
the outdoors light is always present, or a house that
has sunlight in every single room. Now, Parans
releases the first sunlight-transporting product of
its kind. Above to the left, the simple principle of
Parans’ system is shown. The sunlight is collected by
panels outdoors. The sunlight is then transported
through fibre optic cables. Indoors, the sunlight
flows out through beautifully designed luminaires."

Papote Lamp is a perfect example of fine skills
directed towards making an intricate yet exclusive
design. The exquisite lamp is made by using something
as trivial as straw, yes; thousands of plastic straws
have been used in making the beautiful honeycomb
design.
The beauty of the lamp becomes all the more alluring
when you see light seeping out of the centre of each
straw and creating a unique tactile luminance.

designer Ryan Grey Smith created this beautiful
sculptural artwork/hanging lamp series. they are made
by heating and shaping sheets of polycarbonate by
hand. he has been commissioned to create some
wonderful work. the examples shown here are the grand
fixture at Saks 5th Avenue in San Antonio and a 11'
fixture for a large residential foyer. to be honest
with you, these lamps look quite 'delicious' to me
because the beautiful sheets actually reminds me of
the wonton skins that my grandma made. available in
five sizes and in translucent colors.
